After losing her powers at the hands of Supernova 4, Dark Nova decides that she cannot give up being a heroine. She is no longer mentally unbalanced as she was as Dark Nova, but she is a scrappy heroine, and decides to don a costume similar to that of Darkwing, and becomes the heroine known as Dark Bat!
